Rattling sound at 1000 rpm (Cultus EFi)

Rattling sound at 1000 rpm (Cultus EFi)

I understand from reading the posts that there are many cultus owners out there who are having problems with CNG settings. I am a victim of that too.

But another problem which has been bugging me right from the start is a rattling noise from engine at around 1000 rpm. It doesnt matter if the car is running on petrol or CNG. The Suzuki dealers say its normal in the new cultus. I am not convinced though.

My net search has indicated some possible causes which has only confused me. A part called auto tensioner keeps cropping up more often. It controls tension of the timing belt. Dont know its street name though.

Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Can anyone help?

timing belt tensioner bearing.

get that replaced if it really bugs you. usually sounds more at low RPMs. btw this part costs not more than Rs. 1500, can be replaced with new one with relative ease as compared to other 'zukis
