Runing on Direct fan setting?

Runing on Direct fan setting?

My Cultus has been gving over heat issues; checked with thing, got new radiator installed; no sign of gasket burnt issues; waterbody working fine; thermostat valve also working fine.. in short mechanic has checked with every possible reason.

Then he suggest me to have radiaotr fan direct; although we checked on automatic it was also working. Anyway for checking purpose we did this and now i see no overheating issue...? I am very confuse what does that mean? I dont want to have fan on direct setting but car is now not giving me any overheating issue? Can you guys please suggest where could be the problem lies?

I am doubting the problem is lieing somewhere either in gasket (but according to mechanic there is no sign of gasket burnt) or somewhere in engine? Is this possible if it could be because of piston? Becuase i remember some times back i got installed new plugs on the same day the car went on heat i checked car with another mechanic he said the plug setting was not correct he was saying about some spaces not left. i dont know what. But he made the setting after that the car run fine for a week then again overheating issues start?

In all these issues can you guys predict from your experiences what next i should check? Does it harmful to engine if i keep radiator fan setting on direct? I personally prefer to have it on factory fitted settings?

Please advise me with your opinions?

It means there is a intermittent switching problem in thermostat switch, some times it was not on timely, causing for over heat.
