Strange problem with AC

Yesterday i was driving on motor way on my alto vxr 2006 115k driven.The AC was working fine but after about 100kms, the fan through decrease, it was on full speed but its through was like as it was set on lowest speed also there was sound like "srrr..srrr.."
i tried to change the direction of air from knob several times but nothing worked.then i stooped the ac but fan was still giving cool air and within 5 to 10 minutes it regains its original air through automatically.then i switched on the Ac and it worked fine for remaining 70Kms till i reached my destination.
What will be the reason? experts, please explain..
