Tappet Adjustment,,,,Is it normal ??

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know if tappet adjustment is a normal thing for new cars as well.

My father took our city for 40k Check up at Honda Classic and according to him the mechanic tightened the tappets. Now, frankly i am not a big fan of such pangaas with engines.

Can you guys guide me whether it is ok ??
