TDC sensor - civic prosmatec

TDC sensor - civic prosmatec

I've been having problem with my civic prosmatec that it haults after driving few kms, then have to start the engine again - got it inspected by honda and they said nothing to worry just need to change TDC sensor -
is there anyone who could tell what TDC sensor is, what's its function - thanks

TDC Sensor stands for Top Dead Centre sensor and determines the position of pistons within the cylinder.Its one out a number of sensors that provide required input to the vehicle ECU.Honda guys could have explained the same to you in more detail.What else does it do...well I dont really know.
