Turbocharger issues in the Toyota Hilux, such as turbo lag, boost leaks, o r even complete failure, can affect engine performance significantly. Turbo failure itself is more serious and usually results in a dramatic in engine performance, increased exhaust smoke, o r unusual sounds from the engine.

The warning signs of these issues can include reduced power, noticeable delay in acceleration, unusual sounds like whining o r whistling from the turbo, and increased fuel consumption. To fix these issues, it’s important to inspect the turbo system for any leaks, check the condition of the turbocharger itself, and ensure that the wastegate, intercooler, and related hoses are in good condition.
