Wagon R Issues: Low RPM, Knocking, and Exhaust Smell?

Wagon R Issues: Low RPM, Knocking, and Exhaust Smell?

I own a 2018 model Wagon R and recently had the head cylinder repaired due to faulty valves. However, since then, the car has been experiencing low RPM issues, ranging from 550 to 600, along with occasional rattling sounds coming from the engine. Additionally, theres a burnt fuel smell emanating from the exhaust, despite no visible smoke o r discharge from the pipe.

Although the throttle body has been serviced and no fault codes appear on the scanner, the issue persists. I even had the spark plugs checked, and theyre fine as well. When I consulted with the mechanic, he mentioned that the throttle body is automatically adjusting the RPM and couldnt do much else. Can you suggest any solutions o r recommend an expert mechanic in Lahore who can help me out?

It appears that the work done on your car was not up to par o r there may be an issue with the timing chain installation. Typically, the idle RPM of a Wagon R should be between 690 to 750 RPM, so an idle speed of 550 to 600 RPM is low.

Additionally, the rattling sound you hear is a significant symptom of a loose timing chain. Its possible that the timing chain tensioner is malfunctioning, causing excessive slack in the chain.
