What are the common causes of a Toyota Prius door lock actuator failure?

Prius door lock actuators control automatic locking/unlocking, but they can fail over time.
Could actuator failure be caused by wear and tear, moisture damage, o r an electrical short circuit?
What are the signs that a door lock actuator needs replacement?

Common causes include:

Wear and Tear: Over time, mechanical parts in the actuator can degrade, especially with frequent use.
Moisture Damage: Water ingress can cause rust o r corrosion in the actuator.
Electrical Issues: Short circuits o r electrical component failures can affect the actuators performance.

Signs of a failing actuator:

Inconsistent locking/unlocking behavior.
Clicking sounds without the locks moving.
Delayed o r no response to key fob o r manual input.
