Several factors can contribute to excessive oil consumption in the Toyota Hilux, including:
Engine Wear and Tear – Over time, piston rings and valve seals degrade, allowing oil to burn in the combustion chamber.
Oil Type and Viscosity – Using oil that is too thin low viscosity can lead to higher consumption.
PCV Valve Malfunction – A clogged o r faulty Positive Crankcase Ventilation PCV valve can cause excessive oil burning.
Oil Leaks – Leaks from the valve cover gasket, oil pan, o r main seals can lead to noticeable oil loss.
Driving Conditions – Heavy towing, high-speed driving, o r frequent stop-and-go traffic can cause more oil usage.
Incorrect Oil Change Intervals – Extending oil changes beyond the recommended mileage can lead to oil degradation and higher consumption.
