Common problems that occur with the power steering pump include:

Hard steering: A failing pump can reduce fluid pressure, leading to harder steering, especially at lower speeds.
Whining noises: When the power steering pump is failing, it often makes a whining o r squealing noise, particularly when turning the steering wheel.
Fluid leaks: A damaged pump can leak power steering fluid.
Repair/Replacement: If the pump fails, it will need to be repaired o r replaced, with costs ranging from PKR 5,000 to PKR 15,000 depending on whether you choose an OEM o r aftermarket pump.
