Steering rack issues are common in vehicles like the Suzuki Cultus, especially in areas with poor road conditions and rough driving. Over time, the steering rack which connects the steering wheel to the wheels can wear out due to continuous strain from potholes, uneven surfaces, and rough driving. Some of the most common steering rack issues include:

Increased Play: The steering rack can develop excessive play, making the steering feel loose o r unresponsive. This can make the vehicle harder to control, particularly at higher speeds.
Noise: A failing steering rack may produce unusual noises such as clunking o r grinding sounds when turning the wheel.
Difficulty Turning: As the steering rack deteriorates, drivers may experience difficulty in turning the steering wheel, especially at low speeds.
Fluid Leaks: A leaky steering rack can lead to a loss of power steering fluid, which makes the steering wheel harder to turn.
Solution: If these symptoms appear, the steering rack should be inspected by a mechanic, and a repair o r replacement may be necessary, typically costing PKR 8,000 to 15,000 depending on the damage.
