causes include:

Coolant leaks: Leaks in the radiator, hoses, o r water pump can cause coolant to escape, leading to overheating.
Failing water pump: A malfunctioning water pump can prevent coolant circulation, causing the engine to overheat.
Clogged radiator: A blocked radiator can restrict airflow, affecting heat dissipation and causing the engine to overheat.
Inverter cooling system failure: In hybrid vehicles like the Prius, the inverter is critical to the system, and any failure in the inverter cooling system can lead to engine overheating.
