What causes vibration at 48–54 mph but smooth driving otherwise? 2003 Honda Element

My neighbor noticed some play in the front passenger wheel bearing. I have new tires, balancing, and alignment done. Theres no real noise, but the car wobbles until I hit about 55 mph. What could be the issue?

Hello!
If this only happens while accelerating and goes away at cruising speed, it could be a worn inner CV joint on the axle shaft. This usually causes a bouncing o r wobbling feeling in the front and might also lead to some torque steer shaking in the steering wheel during acceleration.

An experienced mechanic should be able to diagnose it with a test drive. It’s also worth checking for axle shaft vibration, which can happen with age. A physical inspection is needed to confirm, but its a common issue, especially under load and acceleration. Just something to keep in mind since the symptoms aren’t completely clear.
