What is the role of the purge control valve in the Toyota Hiluxs EVAP system?

The purge control valve PCV is a key component of the Evaporative Emission Control EVAP system. It regulates the flow of fuel vapors from the fuel tank to the engine’s intake manifold for combustion. A malfunctioning valve can cause performance issues, fuel wastage, and increased emissions.

The purge control valve PCV plays a crucial role in the Evaporative Emission Control EVAP system by regulating the flow of fuel vapors from the fuel tank to the engines intake manifold. These vapors are normally trapped in the charcoal canister, which stores them until they are purged into the engine for combustion. The valve opens and closes based on engine load and temperature to manage the release of these vapors. A malfunctioning purge control valve can cause several issues such as poor engine performance, increased emissions, and fuel wastage.
