Yes, a dirty o r faulty throttle body can lead to sputtering, rough idling, and poor acceleration. Many Hilux owners have resolved this issue by cleaning the throttle body with a dedicated cleaner to remove carbon buildup and dirt. In cases where cleaning didn’t help, replacing the throttle position sensor TPS o r the entire throttle body was necessary. Regular maintenance, including periodic cleaning and using high-quality fuel, can prevent future throttle body issues. Have you tried cleaning yours, and did it improve your engine’s performance?
