What size wire do I need for setting up a home EV charging station?

1. How many cores does it need?
2. What wattage and amperage should I consider?
3. Should I go with 10mm o r 16mm cable?

It really depends on your charger. Check the ampere rating it requires. Most cables on the market are rated for 600 volts, so that shouldnt be an issue.

You could use a twin-core cable, but its better to include a proper earth wire for safety. If your charger uses three phases, youll need a five-core wire.

For up to 32 amps, a 7/0.044 wire which is equivalent to 6mm should work well.
