What the ABS light on the Civic indicates..?

what the Abs light in the civic indicates...?its always on and on my last civic it was not like this it just automatically turned off after starting the engine.. Kindly helpme out....

if the truns off after u start the engin then every thing is perfect but if the light turns on when engin is running there is a problem with abs u must take ur car to honda dealership
