Which engine is better PETROL OR DIESEL

WHICH ENGINE IS BETTER PETROL OR DISEAL ENGINE...WHICH LIFE IS MORE.

it depends on the engine. forexample an 83 300D from a W123 merc will last almost forever if taken care of whilst a (local) 2.0D will start to wear excessivly after 60,000km.

Personally i think diesels will last longer due to the fact that they opperate at lower rpms but there is more load on it's moving parts due to the harmonic vibrations of a diesel engine. This is multiplied when it is a turbodiesel
