Which tires should I choose?

I need to change the tires on my 2001 VTI Oriel Prosmatec. The orignal DUNLOP LeMans were, in my opinion, very hard. I need something for a softer ride, but no road noise.
Any help would be appreciated.

you never specified your budget or what size rim you have so i'm guessing you have the OEM size still.
