Why do some Honda City brake pads make a squeaking o r grinding noise?

Many drivers report squealing, grinding, o r screeching noises when applying the brakes. Could this be due to dust accumulation, poor-quality brake pads, o r metal-on-metal contact?

Brake pads can make squeaking, screeching, o r grinding noises for various reasons:

Dust accumulation: Over time, dust and debris can build up between the pads and the rotor, causing a squealing noise.
Poor-quality brake pads: Low-quality aftermarket pads may be more prone to making noise due to inferior materials.
Worn-out pads: If the brake pads are excessively worn, the metal backing plate may make contact with the rotor, causing a grinding noise.
Moisture o r rust: Sometimes, moisture o r rust on the rotors can cause temporary squeaking, which should go away after the brakes are applied a few times.
