Why do Toyota Prius brake pads wear out faster on one side?

Why do Toyota Prius brake pads wear out faster on one side?

Some Prius owners find that one side wears out faster than the other, leading to uneven braking.
Could this be due to stuck calipers, improper wheel alignment, o r hydraulic pressure imbalances?
How can owners diagnose whether the issue is with the calipers, rotors, o r brake pads?

Uneven brake pad wear on one side can be caused by:

Stuck o r malfunctioning calipers: A stuck caliper can cause the brake pads to stay engaged on one side, leading to faster wear.
Improper wheel alignment: Misalignment can lead to uneven tire wear, but it can also affect how the brake system functions.
Hydraulic pressure imbalance: Issues with the brake master cylinder o r uneven brake fluid distribution can lead to one side working harder than the other.

Diagnosis: Check if the calipers are freely moving and ensure the hydraulic system is functioning properly. Also, inspect the rotors for uneven wear patterns.
