Why does my Honda City’s check engine light turn on due to ignition coil failure?

A failing ignition coil can trigger the check engine light, but how can owners confirm that the light is due to an ignition coil issue rather than another engine-related problem? Can using an OBD-II scanner help in identifying coil-related error codes?

Check Engine Light and Ignition Coils:

A failing ignition coil causes misfires, which are detected by the vehicle’s ECU Engine Control Unit. The ECU triggers the check engine light and stores error codes like P0300 random misfire o r P0301-P0304 specific cylinder misfire.
Using an OBD-II Scanner: An OBD-II scanner can read the diagnostic trouble codes DTCs and identify whether the misfire is related to the ignition coil.
