Why does the Check Engine Light CEL turn on due to faulty sensors in the Toyota Prius?

Many Prius owners report that their Check Engine Light CEL turns on unexpectedly, often due to sensor malfunctions.
Could this be caused by a faulty oxygen sensor O2, mass airflow sensor MAF, o r catalytic converter sensor?
How can owners scan and diagnose sensor-related check engine codes in Pakistan?

Possible Causes: A faulty sensor can trigger the CEL, especially issues with the oxygen sensor O2, mass airflow sensor MAF, o r catalytic converter sensor. These sensors monitor the engine’s performance and emissions, and when they malfunction, the car’s ECU Engine Control Unit detects irregularities and activates the CEL.
How to Diagnose: Owners can use an OBD2 scanner to read the error codes from the cars ECU. This scanner will help identify which sensor is causing the issue. In Pakistan, diagnostic tools are available at local workshops o r online platforms like PakWheels, AliExpress, and Daraz.
