Why does the Toyota Prius starter motor fail frequently in Pakistan’s climate and driving conditions?

Given the high temperatures, humidity, and traffic congestion in cities like Karachi and Lahore, does the climate impact the durability of the Prius starter motor? Are there any specific driving habits that increase the risk of failure?

High Temperatures & Humidity: In cities like Karachi and Lahore, the high heat and humidity can cause the starter motor’s internal parts to wear faster, and the motors components can become corroded. This reduces the efficiency of the starter.
Traffic Congestion: Frequent stop-and-go driving places additional stress on the starter motor as it is engaged more often. This frequent cycling leads to wear and tear, shortening its lifespan.

3. Differentiating Between a Dead Battery and a Faulty Starter Motor:

Battery Check: If you turn the key and the lights o r accessories still work but the engine doesn’t start, it’s usually a starter motor issue. If nothing works, the battery is likely dead.
Jump Start Test: If jump-starting the car works, the issue is most likely the battery. If the car still doesnt start, the starter motor may be faulty.
Multimeter Test: Use a multimeter to check the voltage of the 12V battery. A voltage under 12V indicates a weak o r dead battery, while a functioning battery should show 12.6V.
