Why so much diff in speed on petrol and CNG ??

Dear All! I was travelling this morning on Cuore towards Rawat in a pretty decent speed on empty road when a Merhran flashed on me. I could�nt change the lane because of a car on my left so I increased my speed and he followed suit. I�m very proud of my Cuore speed on CNG. So the gap widened and I left

Mehran behind with a good distance when suddenly I was blocked by slow moving cars and that man came closer to me. He was clearly in a mood of race so I revved high but amazingly this time he overtook me. I got to know he converted to petrol. So I had to shift to petrol to overtook him again. My question is why there is a big difference in speeds of Suzuki cars on Petrol and CNG in Mehran. Alto and cultus?? On CNG I can easily smoke all these but on petrol even Mehran is hard to beat and cultus is faster. I think Cuore is the best on CNG among small hatchback cars. What do u comment??
