Changan Alsvin Car Reviews
Great Sedan, But Lacking Reliability.
Jan 31 2025Everything about the Alsvin is impressive—the ride comfort, environmental noise dampening in the cabin, super-soft power steering, trunk opener, user-friendly features, fuel efficiency, stylish design, and elegant looks. However, there are some issues with the 1.3MT Comfort model that I’ve recently purchased. One problem is the useless welcome headlights that turn on every time you unlock the car with the remote, draining the battery. The low ground clearance is another concern, and the battery dies out if the car is left unused for 3-5 days, requiring a jump start. Many users with the DCT 1.5L model are facing similar issues, and the company has no solution to this problem. Even replacing the battery doesn’t seem to fix it. Additionally, spare parts are expensive, and the resale value is low. Overall, its not a very reliable car due to the battery o r power generator issues, as it can die out completely, leaving the remote control and ignition unresponsive.

Needs Better Safety Standards.
Jan 24 2025The Changan Alsvin lacks crucial safety features, making it less stable and secure compared to other models like the Proton Saga, which offers a 4-star ANCAP rating. The interior of the Saga is also far superior. The Alsvin offers poor value for money, especially with the absence of features like Vehicle Stability Control VSC, which contributes to its weak grip on the road. There are even videos of the Alsvin slipping at speeds of 80 km/h, highlighting the serious safety concerns. This is simply unacceptable.

Great Looks, Poor Reliability.
Jan 24 2025The Changan Alsvin offers a lot of positives, such as excellent ride comfort, environmental noise dampening in the cabin, super-soft power steering, a convenient trunk opener, user-friendly features, fuel efficiency, and stylish, elegant looks. However, there are some significant drawbacks with the 1.3MT Comfort hatchback model that I’ve noticed after purchasing it brand new. The welcome headlights activate every time I unlock the car with the remote, draining the battery. The low ground clearance is another issue, and the battery tends to die if the car is left unused in the porch for 3-5 days, requiring a jump start. Many other users with the DCT 1.5L model are experiencing similar problems. The company has yet to provide a solution, and even replacing the battery doesn’t seem to fix the issue. Expensive spare parts and poor resale value are also concerns. Overall, the Alsvin is not a reliable car, mainly due to battery o r power generation issues that prevent it from responding to the remote control and ignition.

Good Car With Performance And Comfort
Jan 13 2025The car’s design is appealing, but the paint quality could be improved. It offers a very comfortable ride with excellent road grip, especially while navigating curves on highways.
The fuel efficiency is decent, delivering 16-17 km/l on highways and 11-12 km/l in the city. The DCT transmission enhances performance, avoiding the underwhelming feel often associated with CVT transmissions.
However, maintenance can be pricey as all parts are imported and expensive, which is a consideration for long-term ownership. Overall, it’s a solid choice for those prioritizing performance and comfort.
