Honda Civic EG 5th Generation Overview

The Honda Civic 5th Generation made its official debut in 1992. The 5th Generation Honda Civic has a new more curvy and angular design language ditching the boxy design and shape of the previous 4th Generation Civic. The Honda launched 2 variants of 5th Generation Honda Civic like EX and EL. The car was in production for four years. The company offered Honda Civic for sale during the years 1992, 1993, 1994 and the year 1995. During the year of introduction the Honda Civic 5th Generation won car of the year in 1991 in both Europe and Japan. The Honda Civic 1992 also featured a revised suspensions setup that allowed for a more forgiving and comfortable ride. The price of the Honda Civic 1992 was fairly competitive when compared with other models of the same class available in the local market.

Exterior

The 5th Generation Honda Civic exterior has a unique design language. The overall exterior of the Honda Civic 5th Generation features a fairly unique and distinctive design language that allowed it to stand out amongst its rivals especially from the Japanese market. It has sleek narrow trapezium shaped side swept headlights and dual air intakes on the front side. On the back side the Honda Civic 5th Generation has narrow angular trapezium shaped side swept taillights and an outward sticking bumper. The overall exterior of Honda Civic EG features subtle, elegant styling cues with a slightly restrained design language. All variants of the Honda Civic feature identical styling in every aspect.

Interior

The Honda Civic features EG interior has black plastic trim pieces. The front and rear seats are covered in fabric. Honda Civic EL variant has standard features like air conditioning, stereo speaker audio system and a tachometer. Features on the higher end EX variant include power steering, power lock doors and power windows. The overall interior of the 5th Generation Honda Civic features a decent level of interior space in both the front and rear for a sedan of its exterior dimensions. It also offers a good level of comfort thanks to its revised suspensions setup and a decent level of refinement in the interior.
