About Mazda

History of Mazda

Mazda, originally a cork manufacturing company, diversified into machine tools and the production of three-wheel rickshaws before launching their first automobile, the R360, in 1960. Designed for the Kei segment, the R360 was a two-seater passenger car.
During World War II, Mazda manufactured weapons for the German military. One of the company's major successes was the Mazda Rx7, a front-engine sports car with rear-wheel drive that produced nearly 100 horsepower. The Rx7, which appeared in numerous blockbuster films, was famous throughout its lifespan.
Enthusiasts continue to import popular Mazda motors like the Rx7 and its successor, the Rx8, to Pakistan. Despite concerns about reliability, the driving pleasure of the rotary engine combined with rear-wheel drive remains a huge selling point for these models.
