Suzuki Bolan Car Reviews
An Overpriced Vehicle With Outdated Technology
Nov 14 2024While the world is moving forward with hybrid vehicles and new-generation designs, here in Pakistan, we’re still stuck with old models like the Suzuki Mehran and Bolan/Hi-Roof, which don’t offer much value for the money. At a price point of 600K+, these cars are far from worth it, especially when we look at the technology and features available in more modern vehicles globally.
If we had a strong competitor in the market, I believe it could put significant pressure on Suzuki to rethink their strategy. It might even force them to shut down production of these outdated models. Suzuki should seriously consider bringing in models like the APV o r other more modern and versatile vehicles, as there’s a real demand for such options in Pakistan. People need better, more reliable vehicles, and theres a huge market for them if the right products are offered.

Suzuki Bolan Van
Nov 14 2024Exterior: The exterior design remains largely unchanged, with only a slight update to the front lights and grille. Everything else is pretty much the same as before.
Interior Features, Space & Comfort: There have been minor updates to the interior, including a new dashboard and some changes to the seats. However, the seats are not very comfortable you can only manage short trips before feeling tired. On the plus side, there’s plenty of space inside, but the materials used feel cheap and low-quality.
Fuel Economy: The fuel economy is one of the vehicles strong points. Thanks to the new Euro II technology, it offers impressive mileage—around 20 to 22 km per liter.
Ride Quality & Handling: The ride quality is average. Without power steering o r power windows, it can feel a bit tiring, especially on longer trips. However, it’s well-suited for Pakistani roads and rural areas, where its simplicity and durability shine.
Final Words: Its high time for some changes. The same body and features have been around for many years now. At the very least, they should include a basic feature like a radio to improve the overall experience. The Bolan could really benefit from some modernization to keep up with the times.

Green Cab
Nov 14 2024I had the opportunity to drive the Suzuki Bolan, which is owned by a friend of mine. The performance of the vehicle is decent, thanks to the Euro II engine, and the fuel economy is also good. However, the seating capacity is a bit limiting it should be at least 8 seats, as having only 4 passengers on the registration book feels restrictive.
Another drawback is the lack of a cooling o r heating system in the vehicle, which makes it uncomfortable, especially in extreme weather conditions.
While we can compare the Bolan to Japanese used vans in terms of price, it falls short when it comes to style and comfort. Suzuki really needs to take bold and immediate steps to address these issues, especially in terms of modernizing the design and adding essential features to improve overall comfort.

Simple Vehicle
Nov 14 2024The Suzuki Bolan has a very simple and outdated design. Suzuki really needs to add more features and modernize the car to increase its appeal. Its quite uncomfortable to drive, and Ive been using it for 5 years now, but the lack of comfort is a major drawback. An air-conditioned version would definitely make a big difference.
On the positive side, the engine performance and fuel mileage are quite good, and the maintenance costs are very low, which is a big plus for anyone looking for an economical option. Overall, while the Bolan serves its purpose, it could definitely benefit from some upgrades in terms of comfort and features.

A Comfortless Ride With Performance Drawbacks
Nov 14 2024The Suzuki Bolan, often referred to as the Hi-roof, is known for its practicality, but it does come with significant discomfort, especially in terms of ride quality. Ive used this car for a year, and while it offers solid basic performance—good fuel economy, low maintenance costs, and decent resale value—it still leaves me wondering why we place so much value on it when compared to fully-equipped Japanese cars.
I bought it as a second owner in 2009 for 0.42 million, and sold it in 2016 for 0.4 million. Despite the reasonable depreciation, I still find myself questioning why people choose the Bolan over more feature-rich Japanese imports, which offer better comfort, safety features, and overall value for the price. The Bolan’s simplicity and practicality are undeniable, but when compared to its Japanese counterparts, it really doesn’t seem to offer the same level of value.
