Toyota Probox Overview

In 2002, Toyota introduced the 1st Generation Toyota Probox as a 5-door, 5-seater commercial compact station wagon. It is a front-engine front/four-wheel drive vehicle that is still in production today in some parts of the world. The Toyota Probox replaced the outgoing pre-facelift Toyota Succeed model and is available in 3 variants - F, F extra package, and F extra package limited. The 1st Generation Toyota Probox received a facelift in 2014, introducing a new and more modern design language for the model.

Exterior

The 1st Generation Toyota Probox has a boxy design language, featuring rectangular side swept headlights, a black colored rectangular grille, a large bumper with horizontal black colored accents, and a slightly angular air intake. The rear end has rectangular stacked vertical taillights, an outward sticking black colored bumper, and a standard case tailgate. The facelift variant of the Toyota Probox has a more modern design with sleek narrow side swept taillights, a small rectangular styled grille with dual inlets, dual slim narrow rectangular air intakes, a trapezium air intake, and an outward sticking bumper.

Interior

The interior of the 1st Generation Toyota Probox has black plastic trim pieces and fabric-covered front and rear seats. The F variant comes with standard features such as air conditioning, front power windows, power steering, power lock doors, cup holders, and a tachometer. The F Extra package includes additional features such as front fog lights, rear windscreen wiper, allow wheels, privacy glass, and rear power windows. The interior provides ample comfort and noise insulation, and the rear cargo space is practical and spacious.

Engine

The 1st Generation Toyota Probox is equipped with a 1.5 Liter DOHC 16 Valve Inline-4 engine that produces 109bhp@6000RPM. It has a 5-speed automatic gearbox and can achieve an average of 11KM/L, providing an average range of 550KM from the station wagon's 50-liter fuel tank.
