Car theft is serious crime all over the world and only in USA, it costs about $6 billion every year. Any un-experienced car thief can unlock the vehicle without using any key. The overall rate of car theft has decreased during last few decades and it is still a risk that your car might be stolen.

If you park the vehicle in parking area or garage, try to park the vehicle close to the light sources. The car thieves can avail the chance of darkness, which can make their stealing easy.

4. Turn Tires to Curb

If the tires of your vehicle are facing the curb, it will be difficult for the criminals to steal the car by turning the tires of the car in right direction. If you car created problems and time to steal, then the car thieves will run away and more likely it would not be stolen.

If someone wants to steal the car with the intention o f reselling it, the vehicle identification number will make it less attractive to reseller and it is easy to trace its location.

9. Do Not Leave Vehicle Idle

You need to keep the engine of the vehicle running, when you are in home as this act will be feasible for the car thieves. The engine noise can attract the thieves and leaving the car running while the car owner is away from it, is illegal in many countries and the law enforcement agencies take action against this activity of the owners of the car. If you are not sitting on the driver seat of your car, it must be betters to keep it safe and keep engine of the car off.

10. Pull Spark Plug Wire

You need to pull the spark plug wire, which is an efficient and affordable way to deter the car thieves. If there is no spark in the cylinder, the vehicle will get started. You can use in the areas where criminals do not check the hood to see what is the issue but this would not work for every car. If you buy new model of the car, it may have coil plug and it will complicate the things and you cannot do it without tool kit.

11. Take Good Look at Your Plates

The theft of the license plate might not be good as it can harm you in many ways. If they take the number plates of your car and they install them on the vehicle, which they use to carry out illegal and criminal activities. You need to take the plates of your car correctly and check it frequently to ensure that they original ones.

As there are no foolproof way to reduce the risk of car theft but you can take steps to make your car much attractive for the car thieves. You need to follow these steps in order to ensure the protection of your car and make it protected from the potential criminals.
