2024 Suzuki Jimny 5-Door Debuts in Indonesia

The Suzuki Jimny 5-Door has made its debut in Indonesia, following its earlier introduction in India in January 2023 and Singapore earlier this year. This sub-compact off-roader was showcased at the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), and it comes with a price tag of 462 million rupiahs (PKR 82.99 lac) for the 5-speed manual variant and 476.5 million rupiahs (PKR 85.58 lac) for the 4-speed automatic.

Compared to its 3-door sibling, the 5-door Jimny retains the same AllGrip Pro 4WD system and 102hp/ 130Nm K15B engine. However, it is 315 mm longer in length, measuring 3,965 mm, and has a wheelbase of 2,590 mm, which is 340 mm more. The width (1,645 mm), height (1,720 mm), front track (1,395 mm), rear track (1,405 mm), and ground clearance (210 mm) remain consistent across both models.

The 5-Door Jimny features a 36-degree approach angle (compared to 37 degrees for the 3-Door), a 24-degree breakover angle (compared to 28 degrees for the 3-Door), and a 47-degree departure angle (compared to 49 degrees for the 3-Door). Additionally, the rear passengers enjoy more legroom in the 5-Door, which is also a four-seater configuration.

The Indonesian-spec Suzuki Jimny 5-door sports a black front grille with chrome highlights, a feature not found in the 3-door variant. Other notable features include 15-inch alloy wheels (with 195/80 profile tires), LED projector headlights, front fog lamps, automatic air conditioning, fabric seat upholstery, and a 9-inch Display Audio head unit, which is unique to the 5-Door and larger than the 6.8-inch unit in the 3-door model.

Safety-wise, while the 3-door version comes with standard dual front airbags, the 5-door version adds side and curtain airbags, totaling 6 airbags. Additional safety features include ABS, ESP, hill start assist, and brake assist.
