2025 BYD Song Plus Reveals Upgrades, No Price Hike

BYD has officially introduced the 2025 version of its popular Song Plus EV, following its initial reveal last year. The latest model maintains its previous starting price while incorporating several new features, making it an attractive option for consumers. The car's base price remains at CNY 149,800, which is approximately €19,500 based on current exchange rates.

Range and Pricing Details

The 2025 Song Plus EV offers two variants with different driving ranges. The entry-level model boasts a CLTC range of 520 km, while the premium version reaches an impressive 605 km. Interestingly, the top-tier model is now priced at CNY 175,800 (€22,900), making it CNY 14,000 (€1,800) cheaper than before, offering more value to customers.

Battery and Performance Enhancements

The base model of the Song Plus EV is equipped with a 71.8 kWh battery, providing 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. The higher-end variant, on the other hand, comes with a more powerful 87.04 kWh battery, delivering 160 kW of power and 330 Nm of torque, enhancing the driving experience.

New Features and Connectivity

One of the key upgrades in the 2025 model is the addition of 50W wireless charging for smartphones, alongside a heated steering wheel for added comfort. Moreover, all versions of the Song Plus now come equipped with 5G network connectivity, a feature previously reserved only for the top-tier models.

Impressive Sales Performance

The Song family continues to be a cornerstone in BYD's lineup, contributing significantly to the brand's sales. From January to July, an impressive 471,805 units were sold, accounting for more than 24% of BYD's total sales, showcasing the Song Plus EV's popularity and market impact.
