A Closer Look at Two Corolla Cross HEV Versions
Toyota Pakistan has recently unveiled details about its first locally manufactured hybrid electric CSUV, the Corolla Cross. The vehicle is available in two variants, namely the Cross 1.8 HEV X (top) and the Cross 1.8 HEV (base), each offering distinct features and specifications.
In terms of exterior features, the X variant boasts an Auto Rain Sensor with Windshield wiper control, a feature absent in the base variant. Additionally, the roof rail is exclusively present in the X variant, featuring a sleek black design. The luggage carrier in the top variant is equipped with a kick sensor for added convenience, while the base variant has a standard electric lock.
Moving to the interior, the top variant's rearview mirror is electrochromic and includes sensors that detect the light volume from approaching vehicles. This mirror automatically adjusts its color or dims brightness accordingly. In contrast, the base variant offers a day and night rearview mirror with tilting capabilities to reduce brightness and glare from headlights. The X variant provides extra illumination in various areas, including the glove box, cup holder, front door, and instrument panel tray. Additionally, the room lamps in the X variant are personal, while the base variant features dome lamps.
The top variant's Multi Info Display (MID) is a 7-inch colored screen, compared to the 4.2-inch colored display in the base variant. Similarly, the Infotainment system in the X variant is 9 inches, while the base variant has a 7-inch screen and lacks a moonroof. The top variant also offers powered front seat slide and recline (for the driver) and manual adjustments (for the passenger), along with a powered driving seat. Conversely, the base variant has manual adjustments for the front seats. The rear armrest in the X variant is PVC with a slide, while the base variant features a fabric armrest. Notably, the seats in the HEV X variant are leather, whereas the base variant has fabric seats.
In terms of safety, the HEV X variant includes additional features such as the Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), setting it apart from the base variant. However, both variants share the same standard safety features.
