Afeela EV Will Learn Driver's Preferances

Afeela, the joint project between Sony and Honda, has recently unveiled its highly anticipated breakthrough electric vehicle (EV). The grand reveal took place at the Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas earlier this year. Afeela promises to be a technologically advanced car, equipped with state-of-the-art features and innovations.

Powering the EV is Qualcomm's sophisticated System-on-Chip (SoC), which has been well-known for its prowess in smartphone processors. In this automotive application, Qualcomm's cutting-edge system collects sensor data, drives interior screens, and enables over-the-air updates and real-time alerts using 5G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the vehicle can analyze real-time data, learn from it, and adapt to the driver's preferences, enhancing the overall driving experience.

The collaborative efforts of the three companies play distinct roles in bringing the Afeela EV to life:

- Honda is providing the foundational platform for the car, forming the basis of its engineering and construction.

- Sony is leveraging its expertise in design, user experience, and user interface to ensure an engaging and intuitive interface for the vehicle's occupants.

- Qualcomm is supplying the technological and hardware components necessary to power the EV's advanced features and connectivity capabilities.

Furthermore, the inside screens of the Afeela EV will be powered by the Unreal Engine, a renowned 3D graphics engine typically used in games, adding to the immersive experience for passengers.

The Afeela EV will be built upon Honda's e:Architecture platform and is slated to be produced in Ohio starting in 2025. Sony's contribution to the project includes enhancing the user experience through the incorporation of movie, music, video game content, and digital technology.

The Afeela EV aims to be a niche, low-volume vehicle, offering cutting-edge technology and a luxurious driving experience, which suggests that it will likely come with a premium price tag. Nevertheless, it is poised to become a formidable competitor to other high-end electric vehicles like the Mercedes EQS, Tesla Model S, and Lucid Air.
