Are Omoda C7 and Jaecoo J5 Coming to Pakistan?

Back in February 2025, a surprising shift occurred in Pakistan’s auto sector. Chery, once allied with Ghandhara Automotive, decided to go a different route and partnered with NextGen Auto, a subsidiary of Hyundai Nishat Motors. This new alliance aims to bring innovation and cutting-edge models to the local market.

Under this collaboration, Chery announced the launch of Omoda and Jaecoo’s electric and hybrid cars in Pakistan. These vehicles come from Chery International’s sub-brands focused on New Energy Vehicles (NEVs), including BEVs, PHEVs, and FCEVs. Reports suggest models like the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J7 PHEV will soon be part of the new cars Pakistan lineup.

Showstoppers at Shanghai Auto Show 2025
This year’s Shanghai Auto Show is buzzing with exciting global unveilings. Among the highlights were the Omoda C7 and Jaecoo J5 — sparking curiosity: are these upcoming cars Pakistan will soon see on the roads?

Let’s take a closer look at these two impressive vehicles showcased as top Omoda Jaecoo cars of the event.

Omoda C7: Futuristic and Feature-Packed
The first eye-catching model was the Chery Omoda C7, a sleek plug-in hybrid designed for modern drivers.

Bold Exterior
The exterior design is aggressive yet stylish. It features a crocodile-patterned front grille and massive 20-inch wheels in either machine-cut or piano black. Dual charging ports on both sides reflect its hybrid nature. A high-mounted brake light and full-width LED strip give it a futuristic vibe, similar to the Deepal L07 and S07.

Premium Interior
Inside, the Omoda C7 doesn’t disappoint. With soft Nubuck leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a large 15.6-inch rotatable screen, it screams comfort and innovation. The infotainment system is backed by a 12-speaker Sony sound system, and a wireless charger is built-in. The unconventional steering wheel and head-up display add to the high-tech vibe.

Engine and Efficiency
This PHEV is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine offering 95 km electric range and an impressive 1,250 km total range. It delivers an estimated 17 km/l fuel average, combining power and fuel efficiency. These features make the Omoda C7 Pakistan launch something car enthusiasts eagerly await.

Handy Features
The car comes with smart functions like auto boot opening and fuel cap access. While the displayed version is left-hand drive, expectations are high for a right-hand drive version tailored for Omoda C7 Pakistan buyers.

Jaecoo J5: Power Meets Style
Next up was the all-electric Jaecoo J5, a crossover that impressed with its specs and design.

Battery and Range
Equipped with a 61 kWh battery, the Jaecoo J5 delivers up to 470 km (NEDC) and 400 km (WLTP) range — ideal for long drives. These numbers position it strongly among upcoming cars Pakistan will soon desire.

Strong Performance
The car produces 155 kW of power and 288 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. It features 2WD and FWD, with a towing capacity of 1,250 kg — making it as practical as it is powerful. All this aligns well with the expected Jaecoo J5 specs.

Stylish Exterior
With a 4.3-meter body, the car looks compact yet spacious. The hexagonal front bumper, along with sleek LED DRLs, adds a contemporary touch.

Smart Interior
Inside, a 13.2-inch touchscreen takes center stage. Safety is enhanced with Level 2 ADAS, offering features like lane assist and emergency braking. A dedicated Child Mode ensures added care for younger passengers, making the Jaecoo J5 Pakistan entry highly anticipated.

Will These Cars Hit Pakistani Roads?
While nothing is officially confirmed, the presence of Omoda Jaecoo cars at the Shanghai Auto Show and the existing partnership with Hyundai Nishat makes it likely that these vehicles may soon enter the Omoda C7 Pakistan and Jaecoo J5 Pakistan markets.

With their bold designs, advanced features, and high efficiency, both vehicles could disrupt the local market, offering great choices among new cars Pakistan enthusiasts are looking forward to.
