Changan Deepal S05: Latest Electric SUV Hits the Market

Deepal, Changan Automobile’s electric vehicle brand, has launched its second new model, the S05 compact SUV. This follows the release of the L07 sedan just a few months earlier. The S05 comes in two versions: a battery electric vehicle (BEV) and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV), with deliveries already underway.

Affordable Pricing Options
The Deepal S05 starts at a competitive price of RMB 119,900 (€15,210). The BEV version comes in four models, with prices ranging from RMB 119,900 to RMB 145,900 (€18,500). The EREV version has two models, starting at RMB 139,900 (€17,800) and going up to RMB 149,900 (€19,000), providing customers with various choices.

Performance and Power
The S05 is built for performance, featuring a 175 kW (235 hp) electric motor that powers the BEV model. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The vehicle is equipped with a 56.12 kWh battery, giving it a range of 510 km on a full charge, making it suitable for long trips.

EREV Model with Long Range
The S05 EREV model combines a 1.5 L petrol generator and a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor. It takes 7.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h and has a pure electric range of 200 km. With a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank, the EREV version offers a total driving range of 1,234 km, ideal for extended travel.

Deepal's Rapid Growth
Deepal, established by Changan in 2022, is rapidly growing in the electric vehicle market. After launching its first model, the SL03, last year, Deepal now has a well-rounded lineup with the addition of the S05. The company delivered over 22,700 vehicles in September, showing strong year-on-year growth.
