Changan Offers Rs. 400,000 Discount on Oshan X7 Price

Exciting news awaits those eagerly anticipating price reductions in the automotive sector. Following in the footsteps of Kia Lucky Motors, Peugeot Pakistan, and Pakistan Suzuki, Changan has announced a limited-time price reduction for its flagship crossover SUV, the 'Oshan X7,' effective from May 4 to June 15, 2024.

Previously, in October 2023, Changan Pakistan had already implemented a price reduction of Rs. 250,000 for its vehicles. Remarkably, this marks the fourth price adjustment announced within a week, underscoring a significant development amid the ongoing trend of sudden price cuts.

The revised prices for the Oshan X7 models are as follows: The Comfort variant now retails for Rs. 7,999,000, down from Rs. 8,299,000, representing a reduction of Rs. 250,000. Similarly, the FutureSense variant sees a price decrease of Rs. 400,000, with the new price set at Rs. 8,549,000, down from Rs. 8,949,000.

Recent days have witnessed substantial decreases in car prices across various brands. Kia initiated a reduction of over Rs. 15 lacs for the Stonic, followed by Peugeot 2008 and Suzuki Swift, with decreases of Rs. 4.5 lacs and Rs. 7.1 lacs, respectively. This trend signals a noteworthy shift in the market dynamics.

The rationale behind these adjustments becomes apparent when considering the percentage decreases observed in models like the Stonic (24%), Swift (13%), Yaris (1.3 CVT), and City (CVT 3%). With new rates ranging from Rs. 4.69M to Rs. 4.77M, manufacturers are strategically aiming to keep prices below Rs. 4M without GST, given the hefty 25% GST on cars.

Kia's move to slash Stonic's price reflects a strategic shift towards the sub-Rs. 4M bracket, aligning with Suzuki's approach with the Swift. Ultimately, these adjustments serve to mitigate the impact of the new GST slab on consumers, offering them more affordable options in the market.
