Charging Robot Will Charge EVs Automatically

The global automotive industry is moving to the electric vehicles EVs rapidly. With a start of this journey, new and innovative technologies are being introduced for EVs in terms of power efficiency and process of quick and long lasting battery charging of the EVs and hybrid cars.

In a recent big development regarding the charging of EVs, it is claimed that in near future the smart robots will be used to charge the EV batteries in a quick and an efficient way without any human interference.

According to details, a German auto tech giant, Continental Engineering Services CES has collaborated with an Austrian startup called Volterio to build up a smart EV charging Robot. This EVs Charging Robot will be capable of charging EVs automatically without any human interaction. Both companies planned to start this smart EV Charging Robot in 2024.

Technology Used In Smart EV Charging Robot

Both partners claim that the automatic EV Charging Robot has a component which is connected to the undercarriage of the EVs and a charging unit on the floor. When the driver will park the electric car on the place where there is an EV Charging System, both components will be connected via ultra broadband communication technology.

Process of EV Charging Via Smart Robot

When both components will be connected via ultra broadband communication system, the floor charging unit of the EV will set its position with the undercarriage receiver automatically and then will start the battery charging.

According to both firms, the ultra-broadband communication will align the components without power loss during charging. So, the drivers will not need to park the car precisely because the floor unit can adjust its positioning by up to 30 centimeters.

Like current wire-based EV Charging technology, there is no need for manual connection for charging in the autonomous EV Charging Robot technology.

Comparatively automatic EV Charging via Smart EV Charging Robot will be faster and safer than wire-based EV charging.

Smart EV Charging Robot Production

According to Christoph Falk-Gierlinge, the Managing Director at CES is of view that the smart Robot will be a revolutionary initiative to make the electric transportation more feasible and convenient for daily use.

Volerio, with an agreement with CES plans to start the project production status by mid of 2022 and will supervise the project in 2024 for mass production in Germany.
