Chery and Huawei have officially entered the electric vehicle (EV) market with the launch of the Luxeed S7. Currently available for pre-sales in China, this electric sedan aims to make a bold statement, challenging established competitors like the BYD Han EV and the Neta S. Priced starting at RMB 258,000 (approximately €33,100), the Luxeed S7 signifies a significant advancement in the world of EVs.

A Collaborative Effort: Chery and Huawei Join Forces
The Luxeed S7 is the result of a collaboration between Chery's automotive expertise and Huawei's technological prowess. This partnership signifies a fusion of industries, showcasing how future automotive advancements will rely on cross-industry collaborations.

Under the Hood: Chery's E0X Architecture
Beneath its sleek exterior, the Luxeed S7 is built on Chery's E0X architecture, shared with models like the Exeed Exlantix ES and Exlantix ET. This platform supports 800V charging and incorporates a state-of-the-art self-driving system.

Luxeed S7 Design and Dimensions
Measuring 4,971 mm in length, 1,963 mm in width, and 1,474 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm, the Luxeed S7 positions itself as a luxury sedan. It sits between the Mercedes EQE and the new BMW i5 in terms of length, with a slightly shorter wheelbase.

      

Stylish Exterior Features
The Luxeed S7 borrows design elements from its cousin, the Aito M9 SUV, featuring thin headlights, a distinctive LED strip, retractable door handles, and a sloped roofline for enhanced aerodynamics. The rear showcases a single taillight unit and Luxeed inscriptions, hinting at its global aspirations.

Tech-Infused Luxury Interior
Inside, the Luxeed S7 blends technology with luxury. The cabin features a small, oval-shaped steering wheel, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a large floating touchscreen powered by Huawei's HarmonyOS 4. Additional amenities include wireless charging pads, a hidden compartment, and an expansive panoramic roof.


Performance and Power
The Luxeed S7 offers impressive performance, with an entry-level model featuring a single electric motor producing 292 hp and an AWD variant boasting two motors with a combined output of 496 hp. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. While battery details remain undisclosed, it's known that the base model features an LFP pack, and the long-range model includes an M3P battery from CATL.

Trim Levels and Range Options
Available in four trim levels - Pro, Max, Max+, and Max RS - the Luxeed S7 caters to diverse preferences and needs. The top-of-the-range Max RS AWD version, priced at RMB 358,000 (approximately €45,700), offers 630 km of range and outstanding performance, positioning itself as a formidable competitor in the luxury EV market.
