Chery Unveils iCar V23: A New Electric Ride

Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer, Chery, has introduced the iCar V23, expanding its iCar lineup. This new vehicle, developed in collaboration with Xiaomi’s subsidiary Zhimi Technology, also known as Smartmi, was recently showcased ahead of its official debut at the Beijing Auto Show later this month. Pre-sales for the iCar V23 are slated to begin in the second half of the year.

Distinctive Design and Dimensions
The iCar V23 is a compact, all-electric SUV featuring a distinctive box shape, a departure from conventional design norms. Measuring 4220 mm in length, 1915 mm in width, and 1845 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2730 mm, the V23 is slightly smaller than its predecessor, the iCar 03. Despite its compact size, the V23 maintains a robust presence on the road.

Advanced Features and Intelligent Driving Capabilities
Equipped with Horizon Robotics J3 and Texas Instruments TDA4 chips, along with advanced sensors like millimeter wavelength radars and high-resolution cameras, the iCar V23 boasts what Chery describes as L2++ intelligent driving capabilities. This technological prowess enhances safety and provides an immersive driving experience for users.

Powertrain and Off-Road Performance
Available in both rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations, the iCar V23 offers impressive performance capabilities. Powered by an 80 kWh CATL battery, the single-motor version boasts a claimed range of 400 km, while the dual-motor variant offers 500 km. With a choice of 19 or 21-inch wheels and impressive approach and departure angles, the V23 is designed to tackle various terrains with ease.

Innovative Interior Design and User Experience
Inside the cabin, the iCar V23 showcases a blend of functionality and innovation. Featuring rounded corners and prominent dials and buttons, particularly under the central touchscreen, the cabin offers a user-friendly interface. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) delivers a 3D experience, enhancing user interaction and overall functionality, making the iCar V23 a compelling option in the electric SUV market.
