Chinese Automakers Diversify Auto Industry of Pakistan

Pakistan has made its auto policy 2016-21 and China Pakistan Economic Corridor CPEC, various Chinese automakers entered in auto industry of Pakistan. they also made the collaboration with local companies so that they can start introducing of their vehicles. Now we are mentioning the names of the companies, which are going to start their business in Pakistani markets.

Chongqing Changan Automobile Limited



Chongqing Changan Automobile Limited signed the agreement with Master Motors in order to assemble and sell the Changan cars in Pakistan. now Master Motors managed the groundbreaking ceremony of assembly plants two months before and the Chinese company will start the assembly and selling of vehicles of the company in Pakistani auto market.

This company is famous for manufacturing of high end SUVs and Sedans in China. It is reported that Master Motors will introduce CX70, the 7 seater SUV and sedan in the country.

Jinbei



Jinbei has signed the agreement with Zenith automotive to distribute and sell the vehicles across the country. The company has launched the 5 commercial and passenger minivans for local use, which are given as under:
• Jinbei X30
• Jinbei X30 deluxe
• Jinbei X30L
• Jinbei H1
• Jinbei H2
Jinbei has introduced the minivans in china and it has 60% market share and it is importing the vehicles globally. The CBUs have been introduced in Pakistan and the company is making plan to build the CKD assembly in Pakistan.

Joylong



Joylong is another Chinese automaker, which is introduced in Pakistan and the subsidiary of the vehicles will import the vehicles from China and the company will offer four variants of passenger fns and the coaster in the first stage. Joylong Automobile Company Ltd was founded in 2007 and it is importing vehicles to 60 countries all over the world.

LIFAN and Beijing Automobile Works BAW



The companies have applied to come to Pakistan and now they are waiting for grant of approval of the government. The auto makers would launch the light commercial vehicles in the initial stage. LIFAN is making the collaboration with Pak China Motors and local collaborator of BAW is Cavalier autos. After getting the approval, the companies will set up their assembly plant.

Chinese Electric Car Manufacturers:

The vehicles are now going to be transformed and they are shifting from fossil fuel to the electric motor power cars. There are many Chinese auto makers like the Haohong Motors, Weifang Shandong Electric Power Technology, Wuxi Shengbao Electric vehicle company and Shanghai Shenlong Bus co Ltd have signed the memorandum of understandings with the local Pakistani company to introduce the electric vehicles in the country,

The government of Pakistan has approved the budget 2018-2019 and presented the incentives for Chinese electric car makers and the following of the incentives are offered:
• Exemption of 16% customs duty on charging stations for the electric vehicles.
• Reduction of the customs duty from 50% to 25% and the exemption of 15% RD on electric vehicles
• Customs duty on kits of electric vehicles, which are reduced from 50% to 10%.
