Chinese Electric Car Maker Launches Operations in Pakistan
A Chinese electric car manufacturer is planning to set up an electric vehicle (EV) assembly plant and showrooms in Pakistan’s major cities.
The Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group delegation, led by assistant chairman G.U. Xongquan, shared the said plan with Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Vice President, Amin Ullah Baig, on Thursday. The meeting entailed a thorough discussion regarding Pakistan’s investment landscape.
Chairman Xongquan elaborated on the company's ambitious vision, which encompasses the establishment of a fully self-sustained production facility within Pakistan, complemented by an extensive network of showrooms.
Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group is a multifaceted enterprise engaged in five core sectors:
> Electromechanical and hydraulic systems
> Power generation and distribution
> Automotive industry
> International trade
> Manufacturing and service-oriented operations
Highlighting the significance of this move, Xongquan pointed out that automobiles constitute the primary mode of transportation in Pakistan, and the escalating global oil prices have resulted in surging petrol costs. This economic burden has prompted a shift towards alternative means of commuting.
Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group places a strong emphasis on automotive innovation and development, leveraging contemporary technology and resource integration. Xongquan emphasized the long-term benefits of electric vehicles, stating that they offer substantial cost savings compared to traditional petrol-powered vehicles, especially in the context of rising fuel expenses.
