E-Challan System Enforces in Lahore

Punjab Safe City Authority PSCA has made the collaboration with Punjab police to start the E-challan system. The working efficiency of this system has been tested through the trial, which is done in Lahore. This system will become operational officially in the whole city from 24 September 2018.



If there is any violation like over speeding, wrong U-turns, ignoring traffic rules, breaking the signals and signs will be monitored by the concerned authority through the CCTV cameras, which are installed in the city. When the violations of these rules are detected, the e-ticket fine will be generated by the system and after that they will be sent to the violator through courier service. In order to eliminate the mistakes being done during the process of sending e-ticket, the picture of the number plate of vehicle under violation will be attached with challan. The photo of the particular incident of violation of traffic rules will be sent with the e-ticket challan to the violator. This photo will help the authority concerned to determine the place of incident and confirmation of violation to the person, who is being charged.



The e-ticket will store the previous record of violators with data and place of incident. If any vehicle violates the rules over and over again, the Punjab police will confiscate it and it will be released after payment of all previous e-challans issued to it. The government has maintained the ‘Provincial Motor Vehicle Ordinance 1965’ allows the vehicle to be confiscated on the irresponsible behavior. The violator will have no right to challenge the decision when the due payment is made. If somebody else is driving your vehicle and it violates the traffic rules, the vehicle owner will be charged on rules violations by anybody driving the vehicle. People will find the police emergency helpline number 15 so that they can get any inquiry o r information related to this system.





The government of Punjab has taken this step to implement the traffic rules in the city and the violators of the traffic rules, who have escaped from police wardens will be brought under rules by the electronic challan system. Now any person violates the traffic rules, they will have to think twice before making any move. It will create more sense of traffic rules among the people and they will be more careful while driving their vehicles on the main roads. This system will help in reducing the daily road accidents, which are occurred due to violation of the traffic rules. It is the positive move for the safety of the people on the road. It is hoped that this system will work with positive results and it will be started in other cities of Pakistan. now the residents of Lahore need to drive their vehicles carefully from 24 September onwards as they will be dealt with e-challan on making any mistake on the roads.
