European Traffic Rules in Mansehra

In order to give the awareness of traffic rules and their violations among the general public to make them responsible citizens, KPK police has launched the traffic rules system of Europe for the provision of the licenses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the initial stage, the European traffic system will be launched in Mansehra district to filter out the traffic violations, which are now on rise and after that the traffic police authority will introduce this traffic system in other cities and regions of KPK.

According to the new traffic system being implemented in Mansehra, the driving license will carry total of hundred points and with each violation, 10 marks would be deducted. It means if one has violated the traffic rules for 10 times, his / her license will be cancelled and to get the license back, one has to participate in the Public Social Responsibility scheme in the layman terms, he has to serve the society to get the license back.

The DPO Mansehra talked with media and said that the primary aim of the launching of the new traffic rules system is to give the awareness to the general public about the importance to follow the traffic rules and regulations.

The traffic police authority put forth three different social works, and one can take and after the completion of the social task, he can get license reissued.

• The citizen can choose to plant 10 trees o r can work with Forestation Department for 10 straight days.
• Secondly, one can choose to work with Town Municipal Administration in order to clean the city for ten days.
• Finally, if one wants to get the license back, he has to work ten days with the traffic police of the town to help the small children crossing the road.

It is necessary to mention that it is the first kind initiative being introduced in Pakistan and it will be great example for other province to get implement it in their own provinces.
