Expected Specs & Features of Local Hyundai Santa Fe

Expected Specs & Features of Local Hyundai Santa Fe
For nearly a decade, the automotive market has been dominated by sports and crossover utility vehicles (SUVs). With new models continually emerging worldwide, three-row SUVs hold a significant share of the market. Today, we focus on one such vehicle, the locally assembled Hyundai Santa Fe.
Santa Fe Legacy:
Santa Fe , a city in New Mexico, lends its name to one of Hyundai's pivotal nameplates. Introduced in 2000, the first-generation Santa Fe marked Hyundai's entry into the SUV realm, ultimately achieving nearly 5.3 million global sales.

Santa Fe's Evolution:
Initially a compact SUV, the Santa Fe has grown over the years, now targeting the mid-size segment. Depending on the market, it's available in both 3-row - 7-seat and standard 2-row - 5-seat configurations. Hyundai recently unveiled the all-new 5th-generation model, set to hit North America, Korea, and Europe later this year.
Santa Fe's Pakistan Journey:
In 2019, Hyundai Pakistan introduced the 3-row "Santa Fe" as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) import. However, with a price tag close to Rs. 20 million, it faced significant challenges. In August, we reported the Santa Fe's impending arrival in Pakistan, confirming the launch of a facelifted 4th-generation model on October 1, 2023.

Anticipated Variants:
Hyundai is expected to offer the Santa Fe in two versions for the Pakistani market: AWD (All-Wheel Drive) and FWD (Front-Wheel Drive). These variants will likely dictate the available features, although specific naming schemes remain unconfirmed.
Dimensions and Platform:
The 4th generation Santa Fe, with chassis code "TM," underwent a significant facelift in 2020. Beyond exterior and interior updates, it transitioned to the N3 platform, enhancing driving dynamics, interior space, and safety.
Exterior Facelift:
The facelifted Santa Fe, set to debut in Pakistan, features a revamped front end, designed by Hyundai's German studio. The new grille, wide chrome accents, and sleek headlights align with Hyundai's "Sensuous Sportiness" design philosophy.
Interior Features:
Despite being discontinued globally, the Santa Fe's interior remains high-tech and modern. It boasts a new center console with intuitive controls, offering features like a 12.3-inch TFT driver display, heads-up display, 8-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and much more.

Mechanical Specifications:
The Pakistan-bound Santa Fe will feature a 1.6L Turbo GDI hybrid engine, delivering 226hp and 350Nm of torque. It incorporates Hyundai's innovative CVVD technology for improved performance and efficiency.
Safety Features:
Safety remains a priority, with expected features including multiple airbags, ABS, vehicle stability control, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), parking sensors, and more.
Anticipated Pricing:
The local price tag for the Santa Fe remains uncertain, influenced by factors such as exchange rates. Initial speculations range from Rs. 13 to 15 million, with an introductory price possibly followed by adjustments. Hyundai Nishat aims to capitalize on the model's unique features and global recognition during the launch event on October 1.
