FBR Started Public Auction For Non Cleared Stranded Vehicles

The Federal Board of Revenue finally started the public auction for the 500 non cleared stranded vehicles at Karachi port on the directions of the Federal Tax Ombudsman FTO.

According the FTO’s Own Motion Investigation, these vehicles were imported without official Statutory Regulatory Orders SROs issued by Ministry of Commerce. FTO order for the Public Auction against these vehicles and FBR has now started public auction.

Public Auction of these non cleared stranded vehicles will be ended after clearing all vehicles from the port.
Non cleared imported goods must be cleared within 20 days after arrival according to Custom Act. FBR is a responsible body for all this activity. FBR has to lift all vehicles on time and announce auction schedule for them.

The Federal Tax Ombudsman FTO, said that the FBR was unable to carry out the whole process successfully and it is a matter of mismanagement of the FBR.
