Federal Government Announces E-Bike Awards for Top Students

The Federal Government E-Bike Awards initiative is set to provide free electric bikes to the top 120 students of the Federal Board, showcasing a commitment to encouraging electric vehicles (EVs) and sustainable transportation solutions. This landmark program, titled the Top 120 Students Electric Bikes Program, aims to recognize academic excellence while promoting eco-friendly commuting options for young achievers. During the fourth meeting on the Electric Vehicles Policy, chaired by Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, the government outlined plans to advance EV infrastructure. As part of the E-Bike Distribution for Top 120 Students, the government also reviewed progress on establishing 40 EV charging stations along motorways and highways. This move is designed to ensure nationwide support for electric vehicles, fostering an environmentally conscious culture.

The Top Student E-Bike Scheme is part of a broader strategy to expand access to EVs. Minister Hussain highlighted that every petrol station in the capital will soon be equipped with EV charging stations. Beyond student incentives, the government plans to offer 39,000 electric bikes and 1,900 electric rickshaws to the general public on easy loans, making EVs accessible to more people. These measures aim to promote sustainability and affordability for all.

Transparency remains a cornerstone of this initiative, with digitization ensuring that the selection process aligns with ethical governance standards. Minister Hussain confirmed that the policy would be rolled out in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's vision to transform Islamabad into a model city.
