Fiat Titano Introduces New Midsize Pickup Truck

The highly anticipated launch of the all-new Fiat Titano midsize pickup has finally taken place in Algeria, marking a significant milestone after seven months of initial teasers. This stylish model is set to expand its presence beyond Africa, with plans to enter the South American market, starting with Brazil. Each market will receive a specially designed engine, catering to the unique demands of its customer base.

As a proud member of the Stellantis family, the Fiat Titano shares its lineage with the Peugeot Landtrek pickup truck. Notably, the Landtrek itself is based on the acclaimed Changan Kaicene F70 pickup truck, internationally recognized as the Changan Hunter. While the Landtrek deviates in appearance from its Changan Hunter origins, the Titano closely resembles its Peugeot counterpart, with distinctive features such as a redesigned front grille, emblems, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a name inspired by Greek mythology elegantly etched on the tailgate.

Inside the Fiat Titano, the resemblance to the Peugeot Landtrek continues, albeit with a notable Fiat emblem on the steering wheel. The exclusive 10-inch infotainment touchscreen is a highlight reserved for the Titano Volcano flagship variant, providing an enhanced and modern driving experience.

Following in the footsteps of its siblings, the Fiat Titano offers versatility with Single-Cab and Double-Cab versions. Customers can prioritize either cargo area length or interior space, depending on their needs. Measuring 5,331 mm in length, the Titano slightly outstrips the Toyota Hilux, showcasing its commitment to meeting diverse consumer preferences.

The Algerian-spec Fiat Titano places a strong emphasis on fuel efficiency. Powered by a 1.9L diesel engine generating 148 hp and 350 Nm of torque, the Titano ensures a balanced blend of power and economy. A 6-speed manual gearbox transmits power either to the rear (4×2) or to all four wheels (4×4) with an electronic differential lock. With a maximum payload capacity of 1,210 kg, the Titano stands shoulder to shoulder with its primary competitors.

Excitingly, the Fiat Titano is already available in Algerian dealerships, offering consumers a range of variants with prices spanning from 3,489,000 DA ($25,939) to 4,289,000 DA ($31,887). Fiat anticipates extending the availability of the midsize pickup truck to other African and South American markets in the near future, further solidifying its global footprint.
