Fifth Dealer Steps Away from Proton Pakistan

The challenging situation for Proton Pakistan continues to deteriorate, with the recent resignation of its fifth car dealership. This adds to the predicament, following the departure of four other dealerships in September and October. The reasons cited for these resignations include the absence of information on delivery dates for vehicles booked since 2020, frequent price revisions despite delayed deliveries, and adjustments in prices even after receiving full customer payments. Additionally, amidst this turmoil, false rumors have circulated claiming that Proton Cars Dealership is wrapping up its operations in Pakistan, casting a shadow on the company's prospects in the early months of 2024.

Immediate Resignation from 3S Dealership Status

South Motors, a prominent dealership in Karachi, has officially declared its immediate resignation from its 3S dealership status for the Proton brand. The decision was made after thorough legal and general discussions with all stakeholders. Expressing disappointment in the management of the Proton brand by its assembler and distributor in Pakistan, M/S Al Haj Automotive Pvt. Limited, South Motors highlighted key issues in a press release.

Concerns and Reasons Behind the Decision

The press release outlined ongoing miscommunication regarding vehicle deliveries, repeated dishonoring of customer refund cheques, and damage to the brand and dealer image due to Al-Haj's business practices. The dealership clarified that all pending deliveries and refund payments are the sole responsibility of Al-Haj Automotive. However, Proton South Motors pledged support to its customers, urging Al-Haj Automotive to expedite the refund process. Customers were advised to visit the head office of Al-Haj Automotive for any queries regarding deliveries and payment refunds. The non-delivery of cars, particularly the Proton X70, remains a major concern for the company, leading to consumer protests and legal actions.

The closure of another Proton Pakistan dealership prompts questions about the overall situation. The community is invited to share their perspectives on this development, especially if they are customers of the company.
